I think so, in both ways. Meaning, they do reflect what we feel but they also define what we feel as each pair focuses on different things and even when focusing the same, the interpretation can vary a lot. For example, even between brothers, they can both visit an animal shelter but while one sees homeless dogs and kitties the other sees an ass farm:

After a super mild winter we got all the cold the winter "owed" us at once. After 2 weeks in a row with very miserable weather for our brilliant Mediterranean standards now it's finally time to undust my bike and take it out for a spin.
