The HIVE Tour - Episode 71 - Back home after 115 days!

It's been a long time since I recall myself waking up in the sea and since I'm an early bird I manage to catch the first rays of the sun struggling to make it through these clouds somewhere West of Albania:

Half an hour later the colours change a lot:

At this point I recall my dear friend @beeber telling me how the Greek blue is so special. Now that I am back in Hellenic waters after 16 weeks and 3 days I can share a confirmative image taken somewhere West of Corfu:

Here is the unique island of Lefkada on your left:

(You can see why I call it unique here)

Sorry for the window's glare, you still can enjoy some Greek blue though as the ship heads South to Patra:

What better way to skip the window's glare than getting out of the cabin right? Well, yes, but it's not cool when they force you to do so. Especially when they demand from you to walk all the way back to the reception (which can be several decks away from your cabin) to return the fucking cabin key. Win win for them as they keep this outdated key system skipping the cost of updating and also they keep their running cost lower as the cabins stay empty for a significant part of this trip (in this case this was several hours). F U ANEK lines.

Win win for you too as you can enjoy the view while I try to calm my nerves:

Blue does wonders on nerves TBH. All decks are flooded though as everybody is kicked out of their cabins so I try to kill time resting on one of the few left empty lounges using part of my bike's luggage as leg rest:

After what felt like an age we're finally allowed to enter the garage hence the following cramped image:

Here you can watch a 4K timelapse video of the ferry trip:

Time to take my fully loaded donkey out of here:

And climb the last steep uphill left for this trip hoping my very worn chain won't let me down here despite the nasty noise it makes:

Ladies and gents, here's a special moment for me as I am about to roll my wheels over Greek soil for the first time after ALL this time:

Classic view when leaving the port of Patra behind heading to Athens is having a camper in front of you with Panachaiko mountain in the background:

Some camper even tow their boat as well:

This masterpiece of engineering bridging Rio (the Greek one) with Antirio is always an eye catcher even for us natives who might have seen it so many times already:

If I am not mistaken this is my first on board selfie on this trip and the second one ever with the previous one taken ages ago:

That's only statistically interesting as there's more interesting things to see on this route than my fluo yellow helmet. The sea for example:

Or the mountains:

After 8000+km I've only 170 left to be back home:

Fortunately the traffic is not too heavy and I can drive with ease as I baby my desperate drive chain:

That also gives me space to enjoy the view of the rock formations on the right,

and the sea on my left:

Where there's mountain's there's (often) tunnels:

More interesting rock formations on this left turn (hence the tilted image):

Still moderate traffic fortunately:

This is the mountain range of Gerania, West of Athens, meaning that home is even closer now:

The following 4K video sums up this ride, the last one of this long long trip:

I can't believe this is over as it feels like yesterday when I started but the impressive change in the sense of time on an experience like this might be subject for a later post. I will make a sum up video where I'll try to thank everybody who helped in any way during this but right now I want to say a SUPER MEGA THANK YOU to any one who contributed to this in any way. Will also try to analyse bits of the whole experience on later post(s) as some might find them interesting so you can tune in for them too. I highly appreciate all you following this and I hope to see you on my next adventures.

See you on the next ones!
