My time here at Obersulm is over and I'm loading my iron donkey to head South (oups, better say horse, don't hurt its feelings). However, it looks like someone desperately wants to escort me:
I can't kick this guy out so we all together hit the road on this sweet day:
Actually the day is so good that I think it must be the best so far, the first to really feel like summer:
Crazy that I had to reach the 21st of August for a feeling like this but...it is what it is and I try not to bother my head with this year's meteorological insanity. There's a nice ride ahead that worth my attention much more, plus I have to keep myself alive 😉:
Though as you see there's not many challenges on the road yet with traffic as low as this - I just have to follow the correct turns:
And greet other bikers that I meet on the road:
Riding South towards Stuttgart is a beauty:
At this point I have to leave this nice view in front of me and turn right to later take the 81 autobahn:
I'm in no rush to jump on the highway as the scenery is so sweet around here,
but the next sign reminds me that this fun is about to end:
Now I am on the 81 with lots of traffic and boredom:
So boring that I find this green Mustang as the only thing around I can pleasantly rest my eyes on:
The traffic is so heavy that there's times I have to do something I hate:
As you saw above that's filtering traffic while a highway looks like a parking lot. The Autobahn feels like busy streets in my birthplace and I surely didn't travel that far to experience this but today I need to get myself from A to B in the quickest way possible so that's the aesthetic price I have to pay. How would I ever imagine that a bunch of little German girls in a white van would come to my "rescue". At the view of me standing up on my pegs to stretch myself they start waving hands and cheering:
When I realise this I point my camera towards them:
Funny guys 🙂 I have just entered Bavaria so it's time to take a break from the traffic and the heat under the shade of this tree here at this parking :
Actually this is where I leave my bike to rest, I seek for another shade to enjoy my small lunch:
Ladies and gents, brace cause this is a rare moment of me in front of the camera:
Time to hit the road again, Autobahn 8 here I come:
I didn't miss your traffic though:
Interesting colouring of the bridge here over Lech river:
One more break cause you know, internal combustion engines tend to demand fuel. My stomach demands food but no way I'd try any MC thingy like this one here:
Time to jump on the bike again:
Finally time to leave the autobahn behind after a few hundreds of km:
I am more than happy now to ride around the beauties of South Bavaria just under Munich:
That obviously includes the stars of the area, the cows:
You can see my ride in 4K in the following video, including the "girls in a white van" moment:
I have booked the same place like the one I did early June when I was on my way up North coming from Austria. Only due to convenience cause otherwise I should spend a lot of time trying to find the right place in an overpriced and overbooked season like this. I leave my stuff in the room and go out for a much needed visit to the local supermarket. Great deals on beer was not a surprise to find here:
But good deals on clothes was not as expected. I got these two pieces for less than the price of an average pair of jeans:
Now I have to cook and rest my tired body. Hope you enjoyed it so far, see you on the next one!
