Motorcycle ride up to a hilltop church

There is no reason to let those first sweet days of Spring go by unharvested so here I am as an early bird on my saddle for one more exploration. A hilltop church is my target, a nice weather is my friend. You can watch in this video how the last part of my ride all the way up there goes:

The pros of being an early bird is that you arrive at places like this in total absence of humane activity meaning you can enjoy what nature has to provided distracted:

The only problem is that it's very windy up here and I can't really enjoy the birds singing neither can record them (more on that later).

Here's the local church:

As you can read on that marble sign it's too new to have any historic importance but it's kinda cute though the choice of colours flirt with irreligious implications 😉

Nearby is a viewpoint for wildfires:

But more on that later. For the moment let me tour you around the church first:

I would normally say "now brace for the view" but the early morning sun and haze kills a good part of the beauty clarity wise. However, I think you still get an idea of what it can feel like:

I can enjoy the sea in the distant background but you can only see a blurry mess.

Let's walk towards that wildfire thing, that heading is less blurry too:

Or at least much better than the previous one:

The more I walk away from the church the more I like the way it looks:

So this is where firefighters or volunteers watch the area for wildfires during summer season:

What a view right? Have a look:

It's less peaceful for me than it looks to you cause I am whipped by the wind but still can't complain at all.

Little cuties of early Spring:

As I turn to look back to the mountain I spot this small graffiti:

That one:

Funny (?) to see the need for territorial pissings of some spray equipped guys 🙂

I love how these bushes contrast the blue sky right above it:

Fancy some more Spring cuties?

Once again the church looks better to my eyes from far:

On the other hand, this young and pretty cypress tree looks a little sad to me with such an ugly companion:

Walking up this rocky slope I find this water tank:

I'm glad it got treated like this though the guys with sprays could do a much better job than these territorial pissings.

The same goes for this one:

Just in case you wonder, the above was taken out of a truck.

Necessary outlet to prevent the rain from washing out the road:

I'd love to record an echo/flanger test in this thing but the ripping wind doesn't allow me to do so:

Here's one more overview as I walk a little higher:

Here is a video of how the view looks like:

I'm curious to see what's at the very end of this road so I jump on my bike and it leads me to this:

There's absolutely no sign about who's in charge of that fenced thing and none can be found around the net. There's only signs of vehicles who had to make a U turn at this point having nowhere else to go:

The whole thing looks rather dystopian except the view that remains impressive:

I decide to climb this slop walking by the fence to get an idea of what is what:

Some Spring cuties welcome me at the top:

As the climb is over I can see this:

WTF? Is this a weather tower? On my left I can see one more:

This one above sits on a tower contrary to the previous one that's sitting on a roof. Both have no signs of where they belong to...that's weird.

I leave my bike behind in this wonderful view,

And walk by the fence attempting to get a closer look:

On the way the view stay nice but unfortunately blurry as well - pity you can't see the sea:

After some hike I get the next images of that thing which still don't clarify that much:

It might be an air defence/flight control radar and this area has a bunch of them. However, if that's the case begs the question why it is not censored and pixelized on public internet maps. Plus such areas are usually (if not always) man guarded. Weird.

Spring is still around though:

I walk all the way back, kiss the locked gate goodbye,

and roll down the road on my bike.

Several turns later I find these water tanks:

Also "treated" properly as you can see - better than being full black anyways.

They are a recent add on (2021):

But they also are the last place where you'd like to take a bath:

I have to tip toe to take that picture taking care not to loose my device forever in this thing hence you can see my fingers 🙂

Hope you enjoyed that trip of mine, I surely did.

See you on the next one!
