I've cycled you around Le Mans, I walked you around its center, how about riding with me some km North of the city? Let's go:
The above picture is taken outside the town hall of Assé-le-Boisne. A sweet spot where at the opposite side is this Saint Vincent temple:
Which also features this nice flower work in front:
If I was here a little later the sun would have helped me take a much better picture:
Especially from this side:
From here the ride gets even more scenic and a stop at Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei bridge is a must.
Why? Because:
It's very narrow, old as it is, and I don't wanna know what's going on here on busy days but here it is at its perfect emptiness:
The view from the bridge is quite lovely and the cute houses here only make it even more scenic:
All French to me:
Time to move on:
Ι enter the village where I find this monument:
My French doesn't help me much (if any at all) to understand what it is about but it says something about a fortress, the village plus some medieval years. For the moment that's where my bike will wait for me:
Yep, I parked cause it's time to walk the village. Who would say no to this beauty?
No paint? No problem - nature does it better than we do:
No shortage of cuteness here:
At number 6 of the main street of this tiny village I find this chair outside this house:
The sun has burned an important detail: there's a handwritten paper on it reading "70€".
Look at that religious detail on the top of this house:
It's a full on flower power here:
Here's the local Church:
As usual, it's located next to the cemetary:
At this wall you saw above is the following, rather interesting detail:
Seems there's a good amount for respect to trees here. And rightly so, they can be useful and good looking through all the stages of their lives:
At least pictures are allowed here:
My walk at this lovely little village of Saint-Céneri-le-Gérei brings me in front of this lovely mansion:
Unfortunately I can't see more of it and the only info about it is that it is (was?) the house of Jean Jacquemot. I guess locals know more about him but I didn't manage to find anything by looking him up. Hard to think of a better place for a cottage:
I find this promising trail steps later so I keep it in mind to explore it on my way back:
The reason is that I have this cute chapel ahead:
The only problem is that the kids who play in front of it wouldn't allow for a video with proper sound so I leave it for later. Let's go down that trail:
At the end of it I fall on this green gate:
Fortunately there's more than enough unlocked beauty to enjoy here at the river Sharte and I am more than happy to share it with you.
Enjoy:
A real eye massage. As I step back up to the village I collect more flower power from its streets:
My last shots of Saint Ceneri le Gerei before I hop on my bike speak for its size as this can be considered as its main square:
On my way to my next destination I have a short meeting with these guys:
A few km later I arrive where I intented to and I appreciate this lovely day as I park my bike in the shade:
It's an amazing spot hence these lucky campers chose it in the background:
Time to walk,
see you later!
As you can see it's a lovely walk here under the shade of the trees:
Plus the view around is nice too:
However, I am looking for a view point named Belvedere des Toyeres. Soon it seems that I have reached it:
You saw the keyword "panorama" above? That's because this spot is supposed to offer one. And as I approach this balcony I am convinced it really delivers:
Ready? Have a look:
Amazing if nothing else. There's more trails around that probably worth following but my time is running out so with a heavy heart I ignore this one:
The local fauna digs holes in the ground:
I'm back at my iron horse:
And as I start driving back to Le Mans I take this shot of a sunflower field:
You can watch a video of the ride and the places of interest I showed you before in 4k here:
Hope you liked this day trip, see you on the next one(s)!
