And that place is Heeze, South of Eindhoven. Those who follow me might remember that I was here last year same time, looking after the house of my (now good) friends and here I am for the same reason again (here's a link in case you're interested).
The star of the place is what I call "the mischievous King of Heeze" AKA Arie, the diabetic old cat:
The above is one of his countless lazy moment but don't rush to call him lazy, he's 14 years old. Here's a more royal one:
And here you have him out on the grass:
Not that his lazy moments stop outdoors of course:
I have a video of him so you can get a better idea:
As for me not only I'm far from lazy but also don't even have the chance to be lazy. Today's task (among many others) is to clean my bike's air filter. I managed to change my engine oil at 6000km while I was in Le Mans but did 't record that procedure cause it took place at a cramped, dark and dirty garage where it was almost an achievement I managed that (still thankful to my hosts for their precious help though). Now my air filter's mileage flirts with 7000km and here's its harvest consisting of insects and dirt:
Fun fact number one: On bikes like mine you first have to take the fuel tank out in order to get there. Considering it's a 22lt tank, I always scheduled such maintenance when it was at least half empty. As I am halfway I go like "damn! I just filled it up!". I didn't have the patience to re assembly the bike and do it later after a few rides so did it anyway. Not as hard to lift it as I expected but still not easy (gotta make your way through the side plastics if you don't want to unscrew half of the bike).
Fun fact number two: Makes sense to use a vacuum to clean a filter right? Wanna see the one I have available at the moment? There you go:
I couldn't find a more masculine biker looking thing could I? Thank you Hetty, you did a great job🙂
After all that you can imagine that I'm quite hungry. Here's my dish for today offered by my exclusive chef, myself:
Now I have to see how I will deal with the weather up here. Not only I haven't seen a proper summer day yet (at least for my Mediterranean standards) but it looks like it's gonna rain every single day for the foreseeable future with temperatures resembling a Greek winter. June in this neighbourhood was much better than what it is right now. Actually in June they had summer but now it's just gone. Climate collapse (not change) is seriously depressing me. Feels like any weather can happen any time.
That's it for now dear ones, see you soon on my next ones!
