The HIVE Tour - Episode 57 - Dutching my days away

How many times have I commented on the weather? One too many already right? Apologies from a spoiled Mediterranean, your truly. However, it's impressive to see how the mood of all beings on earth is dictated at a certain degree from the weather.

See my friends here:

What makes a cat life so wonderful?

In this case the most clear blue sky possible, at least by North European standards:

Good weather opens up the appetite for other joys of life as well so... time to cook! I find it a good idea to enhance this superb day with some kebab and baby potatoes:

The above are escorted by a yogurt sauce and humus but the result is no nice in looks and taste that I forget my Insta obligations and focus on consuming it. Sorry guys, it went in my stomach with no more pictures. I must repeat it though...

However, I'm still in the Netherlands and one day might be nice but the next one can be quite the opposite, even in the heart of summer. So next morning it's all dark and gloomy, raining dogs and cats while I'm having my breakfast inside watching the mess outside:

I hoped this would give time for the rain to stop till I go out to take care of the chickens but nope:

Needless to say that the pool will stay untouched:

All these very first world problems give me the time to enjoy cooking inside as there's not much more I can enjoy at the moment. I guess you won't be surprised that I am about to make an omelette with 3 chickens at my disposal right? Watch me doing one "ala Oresti", the Dutch version.

Let's start with the basics:

The plot twist is that I use bits of Cambozola. I love this cheese which is like a Gorgonzola who speaks French. Try it out if you haven't!

Hey, have I showed you the egg tray? These chickens are pretty productive!

Time for some potatoes and carrots:

Let's start frying in olive oil:

I love it when kitchens have pots with lovely stuff like this that take your cooking to the next level:

A few minutes later I am done though I am not so happy with the shape, I usually manage a perfect circle:

Who cares as long as it tastes so nice though.

Time for some weather change isn't it? There you go:

A bit of blue is back in the sky, a lot of cat love is back on my blue jeans:

And a whole lot of water is collected in this container from all this rain which as you see I am about to use to water the plants inside:

The outside ones don't need my help with this weather. Quite the opposite, there's even fungi growing over the wet grass:

That's it for now folks, see you soon in my next updates!
