19th century castle / Κάστρο Γρίβα

Wouldn't you stop to have a look at this if it was on your way?

It's a no brainer right? Especially when it's all beautified by the blooming Spring vegetation.

I bet this olive tree was already there when this castle was built:

Those sheep were definitely not but it's lovely to listen to their bells while they enjoy this green field (for sound check video at the end):

See how Spring paves my way up to the castle:

Spring is the best artist right? Look at that:

Does a nice job complimenting this fortress wall:

Last shot before I take the last steps up to the entrance:

To be honest I expected a more "grande" gate than this:

The very first rooms are dark and indifferent:

There is a light at the end of the tunnel though:

Which leads to this heaven:

There's several dark and humid cells around:

But the open top is pure majestic Spring:

I wouldn't fancy doing time in any of those cells:

Enough claustrophobia, let's enjoy the open heavenly space of that thing with view from the top:

I hope you did a favour to yourself and clicked some of the above to enlarge them. Still hungry?

Here's a video for you:

Hope you enjoyed it - I surely did!
