On the road (part 6)

I ride South East leaving Lefkada island behind, heavy hearted as it's such a beautiful one (check previous posts). In search of new beauties I make a first deviation at Voulkaria Lake and start riding on this field in an attempt to reach the waterfront:

Not the best idea as it's not possible to reach the water (from this side at least) and the wet soil with the early morning humid grass makes no friend to my almost finished street tires (new ones ordered already) and my fully loaded bike is far from happy with that.

Not such a bad spot for a couple of shots though:

As I leave this place behind to get back on my route I find a road sign which some locals have converted to a sign of lack of civilisation:

A few km later at Vonitsa this house screaming loneliness makes me stop:

Watery beauty is captured later at the bay of Loutraki where I wish I had more time to spend around.
Here's why:

Such a lovely beach isn't it? Envying the only guy around who was there fishing I have to leave this behind and continue my way South. Not that the road ahead is not attractive:

It's only ten minutes later though that there's more souls to envy. Look at these guys sunbathing:

For the geo curious the above spot is right here.

Again, the road is calling and I'm easily convinced it's worth riding:

A sweet ride heading South around this agricultural area with zero residential elements brings me to Amvrakia Lake. My bike covers part of the trash dumb humans dump there:

What a moronic way to spoil a view like this:

Seriously, it's hard to take a picture there without a single piece of shit:

"Time to go?"
"Yes":

Next to the previous lake is a large swamp which isn't exactly as scenic as I expected hence my harvest is pretty minimal on that:

I keep riding South East when later I experience the second destroyed road of my trip so far.
This time it's a bridge over the river of Evinos. Can you spot the issue?

Let me take you closer:

The South side has dropped by a good amount right in the middle of the bridge due to extreme rainfalls hence the bridge is closed and only bikes can cross only from its North lane:

Times like this I'm glad I'm light haha. At the end of this adventure I had to cramp my bike and luggage though those concrete blocks:

Not before taking some pictures of the river though:

Fortunately the next bridge to cross is the one at Antirio, the most impressive one in Greece and one of the best in the world which I have covered in the first post of my trip. This brings me to the next place I have booked and I must admit I can't regret it with a view like this - check it out:

The garden of this property is at full bloom with Spring partying big time:

You may fancy a video at this point so you can enjoy the birds too right?
Right on:

I also have a feeling that you might wanna watch the ride of that day too:

To be continued!
