My time at the beautiful island of Lefkada is almost over so I try to fill my eyes with the last bits of its beauty as I'm about to leave it behind. The North end of the island has a large swamp with sea water that gives some unusual shades, at least not so common around Greece:
Not a good idea to walk that thing so I didn't:
The iron horse waits, gotta move on:
At the North East end of the swamp above is this stripe of sand which forms a docking/swimming bay with view to the local castle (more on that later):
I like this stone wall with its stairway at the end leading to this miniature church:
The view from the top is nothing to complain about:
This marina hosts a couple of antique sail boats. Here's one of them:
If you haven't found it funny or cartoonish yet, look at its "stairway to heaven":
It's like taken from your tasteless poor grandma's house. The other one is more graceful:
Poses better too:
A rare case of an almost idle ferry but a pretty smart and functional idea as it folds when small vessels have to pass and rotates when bigger ones have to.
It's South side gets more complimented by the sun hence offers better images:
Opposite side of the fortress another swamp offers me the following pair of images:
Dear Lefkada, I'm leaving you behind with a heavy heart but I'm sure your beauty will bring me back to you sometime soon. Time to move South now...
