My first motorcycle trip in Europe (June 2009 - Part 5 Murnau - Innsbruck)

(continued from part 4 )

Though I have a feeling Munich wouldn't let me down I know weather probably will. And if I would survive it in my (partially) motorcycle gear I wasn't sure at all my partner in crime would in her casual outfit so it's time to head back South to Innsbruck on 2 road and leave Murnau behind:

Not that the weather is any better southbound but at least we're getting closer to out base:

We're very lucky actually cause it looks like we missed the storm that flooded the area for only a few minutes:

I have to cross check the calendar cause that doesn't look like end of June to my debutant Mediterranean eyes:

Funny that this reads "Reopened" (I guess) while now is probably closed (couldn't find it on GM):

The gods of travelling are treating us in a privileged way so we enjoy the cloudy but dry way back passing by those cute tiny barns:

A joy for 2 legged beings but also 4 legged ones:

A bit of traffic jam near Mittenwald:

That allows us to take a better look on those sharp slopes around:

50km/h speed limit is over but conditions and traffic won't allow much space for speeding anyway:

The empty and wet road back to Austria:

Shades of white and green all the way heading South:

This restaurant has a great view but chances are it's closed long ago - I can't find it:

Some traffic again near Zirl:

No worries as it's downhill and the road offers a nice overview of the town and the valley:

More interesting formations as we know head East to Innsbruck:

Haven't seen the sun so far:

Inn river:

I can't have enough of the Alps even on a miserable day like this:

No, I'm not driving the wrong way, the camera girl behind me likes to look back from time to time:

The wild beauty of smoking Alps:

Here we are overlooking river Inn at Völs:

That's right next to Innsbruck's airport hence the following shot:

The following image means we're back in Innsbruck:

This is the local "Triumphforte" built by Maria Theresa in 1765 for the ocassion of her son's marriage, hence the local street we're riding on at the moment has her name. The traffic and the photographer's speedy fingers allow for the following shots as I ride on:

Including this one with that plane flying through:

This one next to that Arch is nice too:

The local University (MCI) is hosted in this impressive building:

Same goes for the local Orthodoxe Kirche:

On last look at the cloudy Alps surround Innsbruck before I park the bike at our hotel:

Can you imagine how hungry I am after all this? Maybe not. Fortunately the beauty of the historic center of Innsbruck distracts my attention:

The waitress in the back finally brings my much anticipated food:

Since the weather is still questionable we play safe and eat undercover:

See you in part 6😉
