It's 12th of June but it's almost 12C as well here at NE Bavaria which is far from summer morning temperatures a Mediterranean like me is used to but whenever I leave Hellas behind I am prepared to not be surprised by the weather. By the time I finish my breakfast and leave my place behind it's a little warmer but not by much:
The images I harvest around here are actually more heartwarming than the temperature:
I guess that's all casual stuff for locals but for a big city boy like me it's a very welcome change.
Anyone wonders where am I heading to? It's all German to me (and you) but have a look:
Eremitage is the local attraction and it's actually a royal estate/complex that I couldn't miss since it's walking distance from the place I stay and walking around here is (as you may already found out in my previous posts) such a joy.
I approach it from its South end. A bit of a long(ish) way to the "top" but a scenic one if nothing else:
As I enter the dense vegetation the blue of the sky becomes a rarity:
How dense it really is? Have a look:
Life outside the green tunnel:
And life inside it:
While walking this corridor there's exits to other paths:
But I continue in the shade with zero intentions to imply that the day is hot enough to oblige me so:
At this point I think it's time to see the bright side of things:
Especially since the serenity of calm water comes in:
Very first world problems: Which path to take?
I think I'll stay close to the water a little more:
This tall dark tree spares me the early rays of the sun while contrasting this green heaven around:
Only a couple of steps later I am in front of the first masterpiece here - the rear side of the New Palace:
My jaw is about to drop imagining what else my eyes have to see around here. I thought I was all alone around in this heaven but a tall woman comes to say hello. I respond as kindly and she proposes to take a picture of me with the palace in the background. I pass the chance also kindly and she then proceeds to telling me in her semi broken English that she thinks I am blessed by God, short of implying that she still insists on that picture. Ideal conditions to initiate a best seller love story if only we could be some sort of a match...
At the end of this short interaction she wishes me a wonderful day walking away this way:
She probably came in stealth mode from this way:
I go neither way as I continue North:
You saw that green tunnel above? Yep, I'm right into it:
That corridor has an opening halfway which allows this viewing angle to the New Palace:
This beauty was built in 1750 and the that golden figure you see on its top is the Ancient Hellenic God Apollo and his 4 horses. Hellenic bits around Germany are not as rare as one might think.
I do the rest of this green gallery,
and now I have one more angle to picture the New Palace though the sun is killing the image:
What happens when you want to pee around here? You get a well deserved royal toilette experience:
Now have a look at this rococo creation from shells and opal:
And of course gold. From this side you can see Apollo's horses clearer:
Obviously, some water comes in play in such places as well as statues - plenty of both here:
The garden with the pavillions:
Here's the view with the palace in the back:
Since I'm close to its walls have a closer look at them:
Now the sun is more of a friend than an enemy so enjoy the next shots:
Here's the local cafe:
And some more shots in an attempt to keep the harsh early morning sun away from my heading:
How about a break here and meet you again soon for the rest of the walk?
Take a rest and see you!
