It's 12th of June but it's almost 12C as well here at NE Bavaria which is far from summer morning temperatures a Mediterranean like me is used to but whenever I leave Hellas behind I am prepared to not be surprised by the weather. By the time I finish my breakfast and leave my place behind it's a little warmer but not by much:
I guess that's all casual stuff for locals but for a big city boy like me it's a very welcome change.
Eremitage is the local attraction and it's actually a royal estate/complex that I couldn't miss since it's walking distance from the place I stay and walking around here is (as you may already found out in my previous posts) such a joy.
I approach it from its South end. A bit of a long(ish) way to the "top" but a scenic one if nothing else:
But I continue in the shade with zero intentions to imply that the day is hot enough to oblige me so:
Only a couple of steps later I am in front of the first masterpiece here - the rear side of the New Palace:
My jaw is about to drop imagining what else my eyes have to see around here. I thought I was all alone around in this heaven but a tall woman comes to say hello. I respond as kindly and she proposes to take a picture of me with the palace in the background. I pass the chance also kindly and she then proceeds to telling me in her semi broken English that she thinks I am blessed by God, short of implying that she still insists on that picture. Ideal conditions to initiate a best seller love story if only we could be some sort of a match...
This beauty was built in 1750 and the that golden figure you see on its top is the Ancient Hellenic God Apollo and his 4 horses. Hellenic bits around Germany are not as rare as one might think.
Here's the view with the palace in the back:
How about a break here and meet you again soon for the rest of the walk?
Take a rest and see you!
