If nothing else these beautiful trees are tall:
Surprisingly enough there's no info about this that sits right in the middle of this little forest here at the North end of the complex:
As I walk back up but South map wise I get additional viewing angles to the old palace:
This Chapel looks like part of a set of a movie:
The same goes for this attempt to mimic a Roman theater back in the mid 1700s:
As you can see I was unlucky to see it semi covered since they had rehearsals for a play inside, consisting of school kids as far as I can audibly tell.
This bit can't host any rehearsal so it stayed uncovered:
The use of the local buildings might have changed now but the way nature treats them remains beautifully the same, with the help of some attentive gardening of course:
I can sit here and watch these sunbathing tall trees all day:
I walk back West and I get this view to the old palace:
This next bit though is another Hellenic surprise to me:
This "Stoa" made of stones is locally called "Parnass" and there's good chances that it's refering to "Parnassos" the Greek mountain as the Greek elements around here are far from rare.
Have a look from the inside:
Outside things are unsurprisngly brighter:
Quiz: Do you recognise this fellow in the background?
A little too far to tell? I will give you time to think, walk around and we get back to him later.
This view is one garbage can away from perfect:
One more viewing angle to the new palace in case you missed it:
One more pavillion is here:
So, any thoughts on that guy I showed you before? These images can help you more:
Yep, this is Socrates. Imagine my surprise as I had no idea they have a statue of him here.
I kept looking at his "I told you didn't I?" expression for quite a while thinking of the impression Socrates and the Ancient Hellenic heritage in general made to its creators to come up with something like this:
I wonder what else can impress me now after finishing my walk in this masterpiece complex of palaces and gardens. Maybe the "foot" of this super old and tall tree:
I'm walking back to my place passing by the side creations of the local river Red Main:
I guess this is a Telecommunication cabin and I'm impressed they make it from cement:
Impressed cause other than aesthetic reasons I can't think of another one.
A playful yet feisty cat marks the end of my long but as nice walk:
I hope you enjoyed all 4 sub episodes around this piece of heaven, here's a 4K video I shot around here:
I have more to deliver as my trip is not even halfway yet so... see you on the next one!
