The HIVE Tour - Episode 33 - Goodbye Bavaria, hello Essen

What a rich area that is at Bayreuth and beyond. Just a week and brought me (and you) almost 10 posts! All good things come to an end though and now it's time to leave my beloved Bavaria behind to head West. Once again my friend Andreas leads my route via his recommendations and I'm more than happy to deviate in order to visit Pottenstein. With rock formations like this I love it instantly:

This town lies in the heart of a valley and as you can imagine it's effortlesly scenic:

Definitely deserves more time but my time is not that plenty as I have a long way ahead.
Goodbye Pottenstien, I must come back one day but now it's time to go:

At some village I make a stop to cross check the route on my phone. There's no one around except an old lady more than 10 meters away who's cleaning the street from fallen leaves. She breaks the silence with a bright smiley "Hallo" to which I respond trying to retrieve the few Germans words I know. As she hears that I come from "Griechenland" she goes "Nein!" in full surprise. Her surprise grows even bigger when I tell her that I am riding up to a place near Marburg and I left Bayreuth behind. My German can't help me to sustain the chat and her English are non existent so this beautiful scene doesn't last long.

The beauty definitely lives on as I ride the 470 where I make a stop at this small parking lot:

It is next to Wiesenttal river and it's got a few benches, some in the shade and in the absence of humanity it looks ideal to me:

Here's my mini lunch:

Humanity might be absent but its side effects are definitely present unfortunately:

It's an absolute shame in any case, especially in the heart of a nice Natural park like this but people are far from fundamentally decent.

Several hours later I am having another break but this time at a much more indifferent parking lot in the autobahn with much more humanity:

That bench looks like a fit for me:

At the sight of this car I wonder what might have happened - is it there left for long and some guys have started vandalising it?

A long riding day comes close to its end as I am one village away from my next AirBnB. As I make a stop at Wermetshausen I am making friends at first sight:

You might haven't noticed him but this little guy is already sending me his "Hallo":

It's a beautiful day,

and I am one breath away from my destination so it's time to finish with this. Nothing more convenient than parking your bike under a shed right next to your door:

I'm more than happy with the place I booked, it's super clean and super detailed, even has a brewing coffee machine. However, there are some weird notes around here.

This one sounds extremely funny if you Google translate it in English:

Try it out and you'll get something like a joke for blonds as a result. German speakers feel free to apply your input on this, I guess it means something like "don't forget to ventilate" as this is the bathroom.

Speaking of bathroom, here comes an even funnier thing:

So, dear gentlemen, take the extra step to behave even more gentle and pee like ladies do here😂

A lovely bed is waiting for me to rest so I'll leave you at this point.

You can watch the ride here in 4k,

and see you on the next one!
