The HIVE Tour - Episode 46 - First steps around Le Mans

Thinking that I am at Le Mans puts a smile on my face. This French Acropolis of racing was known to me since I was a little kid and now I get the chance to see how it looks like in real. So I wake up and can't wait to walk this famous city. However, here's what I see as soon as I look down from my bunk bed:

The "who the hell are you" is beyond clear in her eyes isn't it? Well, she'd better get to know me cause she'll be in my hands for the rest of July till her "mum & dad" come back from their vacations. This lucky princess has like to enjoy the balcony view from the table:

Meanwhile I like to walk cities for the first time and since the weather is super friendly I grab the chance to do so.
That's my neighbourhood:

A huge difference compared to the style of houses I've been experiencing around Germany for a month or so (wow...I've spent a whole month in Germany!). These are rather modest as you can see and multi storey ones like the following are rather rare:

I expected something fancier at Le Mans to be honest but since I didn't necessarily wanted anything fancier I'm absolutely fine with it.

The French flag looks lazy on this windless day and finally I see some blue sky:

Considering that last day in Germany I had the heating on, these images around Huisne river look and feel beyond warm to me:

More modest houses on my way but cute and flattered by the rays of this bright sun:

My walk brings me to the local supermarket where I confirm the great deals France has on beer. I remembered that during my time at Nice back in 2019 and I'm more than happy to see it stays in tact:

Nice painting on the wall:

And what follows a visit to the supermarket? Cooking! Bon Appétit!

Meanwhile I am looking for engine oil for my bike and my dear host offers to take me to a few places and see if they have what I need. This gives me the chance to see in real part of the Le Mans 24h track which is a public road all the rest of the year:

Hence those double barriers on the sides of the road. I didn't find the oil I want but no worries as I order it online. Besides, why worry when you have such a cat to pet at your disposal?

She stays pretty even out of focus:

Rear view of the house, just in case you're curious how the backyards around here look like:

"Moony" has lunch:

While I proudly find out that French kids are taught Greek mythology at school:

Moony digests her lunch:

On another walk of mine I walk once again towards the river but from another route this time which leads me to this funny garage door:

The local bridge is a train bridge:

The view from the top is lovely:

I had no idea they had such bread machines in France:

They do have a taste in signs don't they?

While dogs might be aggressive like the illustrated above, Moony is a little lazy I must tell you:

Though she does like living on the edge at times. Literally:

She likes chairs,

And she loves my lap:

In between she spends some time on the table, especially when I am working there on my laptop:

And she also likes to examine my laptop's bag:

Watch her majesty in the following video:

See you soon on my next adventures around Le Mans!
