I leave Petrovaradin behind (which I enjoyed so much as you can see in my previous episode) and walk down the cobblestone backstreets to make it to my bike.
I hop on my bike and cross Varadin bridge to make it to Novi Sad over Danube river:
I must admit I really like the city at first glance. I never heard of anyone speaking about Novi Sad and since Belgrade surprised me I thought that urban beauty might be over for Serbia at the moment.
I'm more than happy to say "not quite yet" as I stroll on Futoska avenue, one of the largest ones of the city:
Unfortunately I don't have the time to explore the city as I've already spent a good amount of the day on other places South of Novi Sad and I still have lots to do before the day goes dark. Plus I am on a mission to make it to a supermarket for some supplies 🙂
Still it's nice to ride the city as the traffic is not too bad and the roads have much more vegetation than I expected:
I make it to the supermarket and hungry as I am I can't resist consuming some stuff on the spot before I hit the road again. Humble things like this can feel like a whole fortune when your stomach is empty:
Contrary to most of the cities where their contemporary part puts me off, here in Novi Sad I wouldn't rush to say the same - could be worse:
My point of exit from the city of Novi Sad is Liberty Bridge:
Funny how speed distorts images:
At the South end of the bridge a pair of tunnels lead me through Kemenicki park to the other side of the hill.
Curious where I'm heading to? the answer will come soon at a next post.
Till then you can enjoy a 4k video of my ride around:
See you on the next one!
