And what an end to this month it is! My previous 6 posts only covered the last day of it and this one is about the end of a longer than long day.
So my dear host Markus here at Knittelfeld Austria, despite an epic showing me around a radius of 100km he also wanted to show me one of the cutest roundabouts of the area as I didn't manage to walk it yesterday due to lots of rain. They tend to put as many flowers as possible here,
but this roundabout has a compass made of coloured pebbles:
How cool is this!
I know, a drone would do the proper job but not one in my hands at the moment unfortunately. Here's the coordinates in case you wanna check it out: 47.218131, 14.841643
In the absence of a drone I climb this slope:
And voila:
Markus was kind enough to take me to Graz earlier this morning as you might have seen in one of my previous posts (I covered this in 4 parts) but it wasn't just sightseeing, I had to do some motorcycle shopping there as well. You see, in the very beginning of my trip, while I was still in Krusevac Serbia, just before I hoped on my bike to drive all the way to Belgrade under heavy rain I dropped my helmet. This resulted to a heavily scratched visor and since it's an old one anyway I had to buy a new one.
Therefore, out with the old,
In with the new:
These things are pricey aren't they? And this is some sort of clearance price actually 🙂 A few markets are as overpriced as the motorcycle accessories.
To be honest I wanted to end my career with Schuberth helmets and start using Japanese ones but louis.de had them in quite VFM prices while at their chain store at Graz they had this fluo yellow one which is as visible as it gets so it was like waiting for me. My previous black C3 did the job for my travels over the last 8 years but the new C5 has better ventilation and is (even) more quiet. Might get back to more of a review about it, especially if there's public demand for anything like that 🙂
So, my dear boys and girls, the 1st month on the road is over and the bike has now done around two and a half thousands of km over 5 countries so far. But that's still far from halfway yet! Stay tuned cause there's much more to come.
See you on the next one!
