After a good deep sleep I wake for my first time at Knittelfeld Austria. The weather is far from as good but my lovely hosts have a good breakfast waiting for me to make it up for it. Dear Markus hands me his rain coat and I am ready to take my Mediterranean self out walking into far from Mediterranean weather and environment in general.
It's all wait and about to rain again:
Doesn't really look like6th of June but it is what it is. Besides, that's first world problems of a traveller. There's people with disabilities who seek for support at this center:
The gloomy weather cannot cover the beauty of the neighbourhood here even though there's not much light to highlight the colours:
This local hygiene center is no exception:
With a pair of "Christmas" trees in front of it,
And Christ on the cross:
This junction a few steps away takes cuteness a step further:
Though I must admit that looking at the "driver" of this train is a little spooky:
Next roundabout is also so sweet:
What makes the difference in places like this compared to other less attractive ones (to say the least) is that Austria makes you feel like there were kids involved in the urban plans. In a good way...
You don't miss shades of green around here and that's my view as I walk towards the local sports center:
You can see in the background that the future weather wise is far from promising:
Or you may say it is but it promises only rain 🙂
Lucky kids can enjoy football in their own backyard:
This pedestrian path will lead me outside Knittelfeld's sport center:
The closer I get to it the better the view behind me gets:
And...here it is:
The mountains are smoking in the background while I capture the green sweetness of the field in the opposite side:
I'd like to check out the local river. Would you like to follow? Let's go:
Not bad right?
The path parallel to it is such a joy to walk:
Whenever the trees allow me I take shots of the river on the go:
Green heaven right? I can't have enough of this so I continue walking by the river:
It gets too muddy at times though since it's been raining for ages:
I meet this cute complex of houses later:
And I am more than happy to see that this river also has a little waterfall:
Meters later a tree cries a river:
It's so soothing walking in green with the sound of water making it up for your ears in case they envy your eyes:
This wonderful path goes on,
until this bridge at the local wheat factory interrupt nature's sweetness:
At this point one can go to Spielberg though I can't promise Mr. Spielberg will be there as well:
I follow the river instead as it feels to me the most scenic way to go and... I stumble upon this:
Looks like someone's slightly oddly decorated backyard but not sure at all there's even a house there.
There is an even smaller waterfall though:
And some typical Austrian houses:
Not only I'm not bored of this path but it feels even more like a magnet to me and I'm all steel now:
How about having a break here? Have a rest and see you on the next part!
